Adult Gender Care Training

Target Audience

Clinicians who are providing gender-affirming care, including mental health clinicians, primary care and gender services clinicians, and surgeons. Social workers, RNs, and clinical support staff (RN, LPN, CMA) who work with gender-affirming care services.

Learning Objectives

Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate understanding of WPATH SOC 8 recommendations for health care professionals providing gender-affirming medical interventions
  • Apply strategies to assess for and diagnosis of gender dysphoria and assess for co-occurring mental health concerns as it relates to gender-affirming care
  • Identify key elements of psychotherapy and assessment completed by Behavioral Health and Sexual Health as part of the multi-disciplinary care team
  • Describe the options for gender-affirming medical care and learn the key considerations and components of informed consent for prescribing of gender-affirming hormone therapy for adult patients
  • Apply evidence-based guidelines for prescribing gender-affirming hormone therapy for adult patients, including necessary blood work, dose adjustment, and side-effect management
  • Describe the options for gender-affirming surgical care and learn how to navigate key competent of surgical care, including writing letters of support for gender-affirming care

After logging in, enter the Access Code and click Unlock. When the activity is unlocked, click Enroll.
Once enrolled in Adult Gender Care Training, you will be able to select from the sessions listed above (as they become available).

To view a session's details, click the hyperlinked session title. To enroll in a session, click Start from that session's page.
The status will change from Pending to Available when a new session has been added.

The Required Series Evaluation will be available Tuesday, November 17, 2026. You must submit the series evaluation in order to receive your total credit and certificate for all of the sessions you have completed.
