Learning Objectives

Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify new tools and processes for Pediatric Pre-op visits and navigate changes to the Adult Pre-op visit process
  • Discuss options, resources and best practices for gender-affirming care, including medical and surgical care
  • Identify ideal patients for the HgbA1c Patient Collection lab method, including how and when to order this lab
  • Apply tools for anxiety screening and processes for using them to ensure patients with anxiety are receiving proper care
  • Apply the PedsBP decision support tools to recognize and discuss hypertension in patients ages 6-17 years old
  • Identify who can complete a POLST with a patient and how to approach Advance Directive discussions with a patient
