Learning Objectives
Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:
•Describe the six stages of the Second Victim Phenomenon
•Identify three high risk clinical events that may trigger the Second Victim Phenomenon
•Identify three intervention strategies to support colleagues who may be experiencing the Second Victim Phenomenon
•Identify four key parts of one-on-one supportive peer interactions with second victims.
•Discuss two available resources within Regions/Health Partners to refer second victims if needed
•Discuss the role of a Trained Peer Supporter, along with responsibilities
