Project Description
This 3-month Continuing Certification (MOC) improvement project, intended for Urgent Care clinicians, focuses on aligning duration of therapy for urinary tract infections with HealthPartners Outpatient Infectious Diseases Treatment Guidelines.
Aim
To increase the percent of treatment durations aligning with HP Guidelines in patients receiving antibiotics with a UTI diagnosis from 33% to 50% by 11/15/2026.
Meaningful Participation Requirements
- Identify and/or acknowledge gaps in outcomes or in care delivery.
- Review the required education and complete case study quiz
- Review practice data
- Implement improvement strategies for a minimum of 3-months assessing barriers and identifying solutions.
- Discuss project status with colleagues/leadership as able
Participation Attestation Information
To receive Continuing Certification (MOC) credit, clinicians must:
- Review practice data (pre and post project)
- Actively participate in improving practice processes
- Reflect on outcomes to determine whether strategies resulted in improvement and if not, barriers encountered.
- Attest to meeting the project requirements in CMEcentral by November 27, 2026.
Credit
This improvement project meets the following medical boards’ physician MOC Part IV requirements and NCCPA credit:
- Emergency Medicine (ABEM): One Practice Improvement (PI) Activity
- Family Medicine (ABFM): Performance Improvement Activity (20 Points)
- Internal Medicine (ABIM): Practice Assessment (30 Points)
- Pediatrics (ABP): MOC Part IV (25 Points)
- NCCPA: 30 Credits
