2025 Epic Clinician Training

Epic is a complex tool that many clinicians only use in specific, limited ways. As our EHR evolves, it is essential for clinicians to be well-versed in functions of the system that can streamline workflows, optimize patient care and reduce administrative burdens. Our organization will benefit from this training by equipping clinicians with the skills needed to navigate Epic more efficiently. Clinicians will gain practical knowledge of key Epic functionalities like Signal, QuickActions and Clinician-Initiated E-Visits, leading to reduced charting time and increased satisfaction with the EMR.

Target Audience

Ambulatory clinicians at HealthPartners

Learning Objectives

Following this learning activity, participants will be able to:

  • Create at least 1 custom QuickAction in the Epic In Basket specific to their practice
  • Add at least 1 custom Clinician-Initiated E-Visit order to their preference list and be able to create more on their own
  • Apply strategies to access and navigate Signal to be proactive in reviewing their own EMR metrics
  • Identify how to enroll in Epic SmartUser courses for more CME-approved EMR Mastery courses
