Janet Swenson Lima received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. Janet teaches diabetes self-management training and is a faculty member with International Diabetes Center—Care Transformation and Training. She participates in program and educational materials development, health professional and industry training and, as a member of the IDC’s Clinical Innovation Team, participates in diabetes research and quality improvement projects. Janet is a member of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and is certified by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Care and Education.

Her professional experience includes roles in education, research, management, program/materials development and health professional training in the specialty areas of diabetes and musculoskeletal disease.  She has spoken locally, regionally and nationally on diabetes and musculoskeletal disease-related topics and has co-published educational materials.
