Antoine Chaanine, MD
About me
I am a cardiologist who specializes in treating patients with heart failure, including ischemic cardiomyopathy, dilated or familial cardiomyopathy, valvular and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and infiltrative/restrictive cardiomyopathy such as cardiac sarcoid and amyloid heart disease. I also have experience in treating patients with congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. I work in close collaboration with the electrophysiology and structural heart disease teams to take care of patients with cardiac rhythm disturbances, valvular heart problems and those in need of mechanical support devices as a bridge to myocardial recovery or advanced heart failure therapies. I enjoy taking care of heart failure patients because heart failure is often a complex and heterogeneous disease where the one-size-fits-all approach may not apply. The challenges and complexity in treating patients with heart failure syndrome is what keeps me motivated to provide the best care to the patient populations with the highest medical attention needs. I find joy and reward in seeing my patients get better, and I’m dedicated to taking care of my patients from both a medical and a social perspective, as my philosophy is that they often complement each other.
