Brett Oestreich, MD
About me
I practice interventional cardiology, in which I perform minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat coronary artery disease. I have a special interest in structural heart disease and treat problems with heart valves and holes in the heart. I underwent specialized fellowship training to perform procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve repair, left atrial appendage occlusion and PFO/ASD closure. I enjoy practicing cardiology because I often treat patients experiencing life-threatening conditions, like cardiac arrest and heart attack, as well as conditions with severe, life-altering symptoms, including coronary artery disease, heart failure and valvular dysfunction. In the cath lab, I am able to perform minimally invasive procedures that can save lives and rapidly eliminate patients' symptoms. I believe that medicine needs to be individualized to each patient, which is why I strive to help patients understand exactly what is going on and discuss all treatment options to help them make the best decision for their health care.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and four kids, cycling, cross country skiing, watching soccer, and cheering on Minnesota sports teams.
